men’s group

A men’s group meets every other Tuesday throughout the year.  Our purpose is to develop spiritual maturity and build authentic community.  We have rotating hosting duties (usually the host is the person whose house we’re meeting in, but not always).  The host is responsible for opening and closing the meeting with an activity of his choosing– anything from a reading, to silence, to prayer, to a song, to whatever he comes up with to get us in a centered mindset.  We do a round of check-ins, where each person has the opportunity to share what’s been happening in his life since we last met.  Then we discuss something together.  Currently we’re reading through and discussing Richard Rohr’s new book: Falling Upward– a spirituality for the two halves of life.  This is an amazing group and newcomers are welcome; we intend this to be a transgendered and cisgendered-safe space.  Men’s spirituality and modern masculinity are topics that are often brought up, but they are not the focal point of the gathering.   Contact john@valleyandmountain.org with questions about the group.
