Join us for a storytelling event!

All Souls Day is a time of remembrance and storytelling surrounding experiences of death, dying, and grief. This year Valley & Mountain will gather online using Zoom for an evening of storytelling and remembrance.
You are invited to share, witness, gather, and create community with us. We hope to create together a space to honor each person’s grief experience as it is. We ask that we share in radical hospitality with one another.
When: Thursday, October 29th, at 6:30pm
Where: Zoom (same as the link for celebration). This event will not be recorded or available on Facebook live. Please reach out if you have any questions about using Zoom and we can support you in getting connected!
Who: This is a community event seeking to create and hold the space for storytelling. Anyone who chooses to will have the opportunity to share for up to 3-minutes about someone important to them who has left this life.
Details: The event will begin on Thursday evening. Each person will have the mic for up to 3-minutes to share in whatever way they choose.
To help us organize this open mic event online, we are asking those who know they'd like to share to sign up in advance of Thursday’s event using this sign up form:

During the event, there will be no conversation between storytellers and those who are witnessing. Appreciations in the chat will be shared after the event, but to maintain a safe environment, we want to make this event in particular, a space for one way sharing. To help us create space for each speaker, there will be a gentle reminder after 2-minutes and after 3-minutes.
Holding space for grief over death, for a celebration of life, and for all the messy mixed up feelings around-and-in-between are part of what it means to be a church community. This is always a powerful, beautiful service.
