Volunteer Orientation & Training

Rainer Arts Center

Valley & Mountain is a community of co-creators, not a product for consumers or a performance for spectators. We build and hold these services and co-create and sustain this community together.

Critical Need for Sunday Volunteers

The seasons are shifting and it's time to shake up our support teams for Sunday Celebration. Joining a team is a great way to get connected, build or deepen relationships, and co-create and shape V&M!

Volunteer support is essential for V&M operations. Without Children's Ministry volunteers, there can be no Children's Ministry programming. Without folks to set up for Sunday morning and greet folks, we cannot manifest our value of Radical Hospitality. Join a team to help bring V&M to life. We're recruiting for the following roles. When enough people sign up, each volunteer is needed to commit once or twice a month on Sunday.

  • Setup & Greeting Team (2 people needed each Sunday, 10-11AM)
  • Community Safety Team (1-2 people needed each Sunday; 10:30-12:30)
  • Children’s Ministry Team (4 people every Sunday 9:45-12:30)
  • Monthly Meal Team (2 people needed on the last Sunday of the month)

Volunteer teams rotate on a seasonal basis.

The current 4-month terms are:

  • Late October-February
  • March-June
  • July-October

Thank You!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers for the spring and summer of 2022 who helped us launch our hybrid services, find our rhythm, and put systems in place to ensure smooth services: Sadie Klingman, Rachel Kirby, Kendrick Barnes, Sarah Bailey, Sam Mendez, Connor Desheemaker, Dylan Tracy, Juliana Bateman, Kelle Rose, Lauren Squires, Jarred Galloway, Izzy Spaulding, Janna Armstrong, Laura Robinett, Jo Bechtold, Sam Spaulding, Jesse Roth, Adrienne Papermaster, Josh Diaz, Lora-Ellen McKinney, Michelle Garred, Kris Lysaker, Karin Columba, Gavin Hastings.

Because of you shifts are shorter, teams can be smaller, terms are briefer, and the volunteer workload is less. Thank you! Let's give these hardworking folks a breather and bring new faces and renewed autumn energy to V&M.
